I have a blog?

It's been much much much too long dear reader. Nothing new on the Darren Doane front if any of you were wondering. Drama's started. I have all of November off of work so I'm in love with that. Christmas is coming and I'm pre-excited for it. The other day I woke up completely convinced that Christmas was only a few days away and I was freaking out because I don't have any presents for my friends and I had no idea what to get them. Since I have a job it looks like I have no excuse BUT to buy a lot of good presents this year. It's (hopefully) my last year here, so I see no reason why not too. Joel gets a double because I forgot to get him a birthday present. Everyone's getting one this year! Even people I used to like but not anymore. Except brandon wiebe.

Tomorrow's Hallowe'en! Excited! I'm being dressed as Edward D. Wood Jr. For those of the uninformed, Ed Wood has been voted The Worst Director of All Time. Easy concept. It's late, so I hope you enjoyed this snippet for the first time in a long time. I have to do a camera dump to make room for Hallowe'en pictures, so I'll put some of the ones I've been compiling up here soon, there are some gooders! They'd have to be to make it this far. I have ones from SLC and Mission: Impossible.

Off to bed! Sweet dreams! Sweet dreams!

manohman

Ok, I really did have an Internet surprise lined up for you and everything, but blogging is getting to be less and less an important the less I post. Good or bad? I don't know. I've decided that for the Best Of video (A DVD compilation of all the sketches we've done in the past year, due date october 16th), no one is getting that deal I had lined up. The one where you get a dollar off for every video you feature in. I was also thinking of giving a copy to Emily and Devon for their party, but I decided against that. If they wanted a free copy bad enough, they would have made it with me. Instead of waiting to get it for free. Everyone must pay ten bucks! It's cheap, I assure you! At an estimated hour and forty-five minutes worth of entertainment, ten dollars is a steal! We sold nixon. for five bucks and it was only half an hour long with all the bonus features included.

Ah, but I do ramble on. Now to the reason I actually decided to start posting.

Have any of you ever heard of Darren Doane? Yes? No? Yes? Yes? No? He's probably made a music video for every band you've ever (and never) heard of. This man has been a direct influence on my decision to pursue a career in film. All this praise is directed to this foxy individual:

I found his myspace account (it's legit, I swear. He said what the address was in his commentary for HIS best of), and I hit him up with this message:

Dude, I can't believe how awesome you are. You're a direct influence on what I do. Thanks alot.

and he actually REPLIED to me! Albeit in two months later, but he's a busy man after all;

Forget my work, what are you working on! Hit me back and show me what you have been up to.

Darren

Darren Doane cares about his fans. I didn't reply because I was scared that I might make a fool of myself in front of my hero. I eventuall sent him this about a month later, including a cheesy reason why I didn't reply straight-aways.

Right now my pardner [that's you Joel] and I are working on making about a forty-five minute short of a giant robot terrorizing our city. To do this we're dressing someone up in a costume and having him stomping on a scale model of our downtown, intercut with shots of actual downtown with people panicking.

And on top of that, my friends and I sporadicaly decide to shoot sketches and skits. We've been doing this for the past year and I've decided to make a DVD compilation of the best of. Release date is the 16th and so I'm working crunch time. I'm in my grade 12 year so I'n really learning how to manage my time.

Man, I can't believe I got a reply from you, I wish I had checked my inbox sooner. Thanks for making my month!

I realize now that I spelled sporadically incorrect. I was too excited.

And so I completely forgot about this. However; today I got a reply! Here it is...

You gotta get me a copy of the project when its done. Id love to see it! My address is

[you're crazy if you think I'm givin' that one away!]

Hit me back and keep me posted!

Darren

So now that cycle has started again where I'm scared to IM him back. Where I am right now it would just be a repeat of before, so I don't want to bore the man, he's got music videos to shoot. So I'm going to wait a bit until I have something worthwhile, yah know?

That's it for now. Enjoi.
